Annotation
The article formulates the principles of organizing the activities of a commercial correctional and developmental Center for Child Psychology and Speech Development
«Tomatis 54» (Novosibirsk) for working with families raising children with special needs, which, by introducing them into the activities of a teacher, a separate private office or an institution as a whole, can significantly increase the effectiveness of the rehabilitation and correctional work carried out, as well as build relationships of trust and cooperation with parents for many years. The relevance of this topic is due to two factors: the increase in the number of children with delayed and impaired development and the emergence of opportunities for parents to visit private correctional and development centers and offices on a paid basis. This leads to the need to organize psychological and pedagogical support for this category of families at private institutions during the child’s preschool and school age. More often, psychological and pedagogical support is provided in the government institutions of education, health care or social protection. However, in the modern world, parents are increasingly refusing to visit municipal organizations in favour of commercial ones. Parents have strong requirements to private institutions, which raises the need to develop a clear structure and a system for working with families. Therefore, it is important for private correctional and developmental institutions to create conditions for families
in such a way as to ensure sustainable and continuous work with families to achieve stable dynamics in the development of a child with special learning needs. Currently, there is no description in the literature of the principles of organizing the work of a commercial institution for families raising children with special needs. The principles formulated in this article have been developed and pilot-tested within the work of the specialists of the Center for Child Psychology and Speech Development “Tomatis 54” over a period of six years and are built into a full-fledged systemic and competency-based approach. The article will be useful to leaders of children's centers and special education specialists working with families with children.
