Annotation
The article attempts to outline ways of forming the universal competence of self-organization and self-development among students of technical areas of training. For these purposes, it is proposed to use project work in foreign language classes. It is substantiated that the project method provides the teacher with the opportunity to develop students' meta-cognitive strategies that reinforce the reflective component in learning.
