Harmonization or Variability in General Education: What is More Important

Annotation

The article deals with the problem of modern transformation of Russian education: the choice of the path between unification or variability in general education, about the role of domestic psychological and pedagogical science in this choice. A hypothesis is expressed about the type of pedagogical practice in school, which, based on the learning model in the theory of cultural development of L.S. Vygotsky and his followers may give more chances and opportunities to achieve modern educational results.
