Annotation

The article presents reflections on the pedagogical heritage of K. D. Ushinsky, first of all, about his ideas in the field of pedagogical anthropology from the position of self-determination of teachers in the education system and educational policy in general. The purpose of the article is to analyze the fundamental work of K. D. Ushinsky “Man as a subject of education” in the focus of the modern agenda of educational policy and various, sometimes contradictory, decision-making options. As a methodological basis, we take not a narrow professional view of educational changes, but a broad context of social transformations. Examples of variants of self-determinations and actions in educational policy from different positions are given. Conclusions are drawn about the prospects for interpreting the works of K. D. Ushinsky as the first comparativeist in Russian pedagogy.
