Annotation

The relevance of the study is due to the growing creativity of the modern labor market and the role played by the city university in the development of the economy of the capital. The objectives of the study were to identify employers’ ideas about the competencies necessary for the development of this area; in determining the staffing needs of employers; in clarifying the attitude of representatives of the creative industries to cooperation with universities. During the study, a specially developed package of tools was used: a questionnaire for representatives of the creative industries, question guides for focus groups and semi-structured interviews with employers. The study of the request of employers was carried out in the spring of 2022. In total, 75 people from the fields of design, media, performing arts, film and animation, information technology and videogames, cultural heritage conservation, education in the creative industries and a number of others took part in it. As a result, it was revealed that the most demanded and at the same time problematic competencies for the creative industries of Moscow are communicative, organizational, managerial and self-competencies. There is also a contradiction between the emerging demand for creative workers capable of providing technological breakthroughs, and the uncertain needs of employers to fine-tune the mechanisms of interaction with universities, whose educational programs lag behind the real practice of creative industries. From a practical point of view, the results obtained make it possible to isolate the area of deficits in the interaction between the city university and employers in the field of the creative economy, to determine the directions for changing the content and learning technologies to solve the problem of providing the modern labor market with in-demand personnel. The created research tools and procedures can later form the basis for developing a system for monitoring the compliance of the results of the work of the city university with the demand of the labor market of the creative industries.
