FAMILY EDUCATION IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION: THE ANALYSIS OF OFFICIAL STATISTICAL DATA

Annotation

The purpose of the study was to analyze the dynamics of the development of family education in the Russian Federation based on the official statistical data. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing number of children who receive family education and the growing importance of this form of education in the Russian education system. The analysis of the dynamics of family education in Russia can serve as a basis for making legislative and administrative decisions in the field of regulation of family education. A comparative analysis of international and Russian academic literature on this topic shows similarities in the issues considered: organization of the educational process for children in family education (reasons for parents choosing family education, the influence of online learning on children and their parents, advantages and disadvantages of this form of education, the subjective position of the family in the child’s educational process, various models of family education). It was found that until 2023, the proportion of students enrolled in the form of family education / self-education in Russia did not exceed 1 % of the total number of students. In the 2020/2021 academic year, there was an increase in the number of students enrolled in the form of family education / self-education compared to the 2016/2017 academic year by more than 2 times: from 0.04 to 0.11 %. In the next 2021/2022 academic year, this indicator increased by another 3 times and was 0.33 %. The same value of the indicator was maintained in the 2022/2023 academic year, and in the 2023/2024 academic year, the proportion of students in the form of family education / self-education was 0.41 %. The regions of the Russian Federation with a high value of the family education indicator for the 2023/2024 academic year include Moscow, St. Petersburg, Omsk Region, Republic of Crimea, Republic of Adygea, Samara Region, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
