Annotation

The formation of foreign language communicative competence in adolescents is one of the key tasks of modern education. This study focuses on the analysis of cognitive and motivational characteristics of adolescence that influence foreign language acquisition, as well as the examination of contemporary educational methodologies. A pedagogical experiment was conducted with 110 students (aged 13–15), divided into three groups, each following different methodologies: role-playing games, project-based learning, and digital platforms. The study assessed motivation levels, emotional comfort, and the development of language skills. The results indicate that the most significant improvement in language proficiency was observed in the project-based learning group, confirming the effectiveness of socially and practically oriented teaching methods. Additionally, the high level of language learning anxiety highlights the need for an emotionally safe environment, as evidenced by the more active participation in communication within role-play and project-based learning groups. The study confirms the necessity of a comprehensive approach to adolescent foreign language competence development, integrating interactive methodologies, digital tools, and a supportive educational environment.
