Annotation

Modern society is characterized by high rates of digitalization, which leads to certain adjustments in the field of education. New requirements are being imposed on teacher training, one of which is the ability to model and introduce digital learning resources within the educational process. One of the elements of teacher training is digital culture. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between the categories of “digital culture” and “critical thinking”, which are included in the professional training of future teachers at a classical university. The study of the problem is based on theoretical research methods, such as conducting scientific literature review dedicated to the development of digital culture and critical thinking of students, which revealed a relationship between these categories. The author provides arguments for the relevance of the development of digital culture of future teachers, as well as development of their critical thinking as a necessary condition for the shaping of components of digital culture. The article provides examples of teaching methods with digital tools that are effective for the development of critical thinking and digital culture. One of the ways to solve the problem of developing digital culture and critical thinking skills is to create an elective course aimed at introducing to future teachers the possibilities of information technologies for teaching, developing their skills in using digital tools in their future professional activities, as well as training in modeling and implementing digital learning resources in the educational process to increase its effectiveness.
