Annotation

The article is devoted to the description of the results of a study devoted to the topic of the modern world and modern values in the views of young people (students of the Moscow City Pedagogical University), who were asked to create a modern fairy tale based on an existing well-known fairy tale. The creation of a new fairy tale involved using a known plot, image, and motif to tell a story about modern society, its values, and problems. Students were asked to use their own creativity as a research strategy, and to consider the fairy tale as a way of artistically exploring the world, using metaphor as a generalization and analysis of the phenomena of reality. In total, 50 fairy tales were presented by students of the first to third years of the university, who study both in the humanities and all other faculties, which was important from the point of view of similarities and differences between creative approaches. These texts were analyzed from the standpoint of pedagogy and sociology. The relevance of this study is due to the following factors: 1) Contemporary art is rarely considered as one of the factors of socialization and integration into culture, so it is important to find out what features of modernity are discovered and transmitted by young people in the course of transforming traditional texts into modern ones. 2) Working with this material allowed us to see those value foundations that are characteristic of representatives of the younger generation, which of them are typical for their self-determination. This is extremely important for choosing teaching methods. Analysis of the collected material allowed us to determine that the main markers of the modern world for future teachers are not only the latest technical means and technologies, although they were used in their modern fairy tales by almost all their creators, but also such values as the rule of law, faith in justice as an important basis for self-determination. The values of modern society, along with traditional non-acquisitiveness and deep inner peace, recognize the independence and autonomy of women, the complexity and diversity of adolescent-parental relationships and relationships between the sexes.
