Annotation

Project-based learning is a student-centered instructional model where students are im­mersed in authentic learning experiences versus traditional pedagogical approaches in edu­cation. In this paper, theoretical foundations of Project-based learning are discussed to ren­der information as to the benefits of implementing Project-based learning as a more effective and meaningful learning model. Project-based learning draws on situated learning and con-structivist theories as metacognitive supports. Through understanding the benefits of this interactive learning approach educators can design and implement learning opportunities to increase and sustain knowledge acquisition and develop critical thinking.
