"A Garden of Forking Paths": on Various Ways of "The Canon" Mastery in School Educational Practices

Annotation

The article presents a description of innovative educational practices offered by language and literature teachers. In the course of the analysis, a principle common to these practices has been elicited: they are composed starting from a student as a subject of educational process and they are aimed at the development of a student's agency. In the considered practices the teacher's attention is focused on the process of students' reading texts; on various ways of recording their impressions of what they have read, and also on possible ways of how modern students discover classical texts.
