Annotation

The author focuses on the fact that through regular opportunities to set personal goals, learn and apply effective strategies, track their progress and celebrate achievements; students will be increasingly able to transfer these goal-setting skills to other applications in school and in life. The author identifies qualitatively different types of educational goals, including Knowledge, Skills, Understanding and Goals of long term. In the article, the author considers the goals of education from two points of view: first, the goals that should guide schools and teachers, and secondly, the goals that focus and motivate students.
