Annotation

The article presents the importance of the humanistic paradigm of education for the well-being of society in the present and future. The role of the humanistic educational environment in the development of the student’s personality is determined. The fundamental concepts of modern pedagogy are studied: “environment” and “educational environment”. The analysis of the interpretation of the concept of “humanistic educational environment” in the works of modern researchers is conducted. Based on the analysis, the distinctive characteristics of the humanistic educational environment are revealed. In relation to the sociocultural environment, this environment is open, flexible, adapting to constantly changing conditions. There teachers and students act as subjects of self-learning, self-development and self-realization. The opportunities created in it should correspond to the needs and abilities of students. The communication carried out in the environment is humanistic, it is based on mutual understanding, cooperation, respect for the dignity of the personality. Another characteristic of the environment under study is the activation and maintenance of creative activity in it as a manifestation of the individuality of its subjects. As a further direction of research, the question of the design features of the humanistic educational environment in educational systems of various types is raised.
