Annotation

In modern conditions of updating the content of general education, state standards, general education programs and curricula, it is extremely important to turn to the rich experience of the Russian general education system in creating curricula from the very beginning of this process, approximately from the 1820s. The author presents a brief historical and pedagogical analysis of the creation of curricula for various schools in pre-revolutionary Russia and shows how under the influence of the ideologies of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Education of the Russian Empire and the educational goals of the state, the content of school education was formed, the composition and structure of the curricula of different types of educational institutions changed. The paper discloses specific changes in the content of education, setting educational objectives through the educational process and, depending on this, changes in the composition of educational subjects and the number of teaching hours for teaching certain subjects. The author draws her attention to the gradual path towards a unified content of general education in the country.
