Annotation

The article presents the results of a study, which deals with the historical and pedagogical aspects of the transformation logic of professional training for teachers in Scotland at the end of the 20th century. The author of the article retrospectively analyses the historical reality, reveals the objective lows of development of the Scottish system of teachers’ professional training and substantiates the logic of its transformation. Тhe problems and shortcomings of the transformational processes of the educational system of this country were revealed for proper consideration in the reform of Russian teacher education.
