Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of determining the potential of the education market for the organization of personnel training in new emerging sectors of the economy. It is an integral part of the research work on the topic "Analysis of the potential of the private education market for the organization of training in new emerging areas of the economy using modern technologies", carried out within the framework of the state task by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in 2021 at the expense of budget funds. The main scientific tasks examined in this article are: identification of factors, including psychological ones, that determine the potential of the education market in the newly formed spheres of the economy; research of possible sources of accessible, reliable information; formation of models for forecasting the potential of the education market for the organization of training in the new emerging spheres of the economy. The research is based on the analytical, logical and econometric methods of data processing obtained from open Russian and foreign sources. Such sources involved the published results of modern scientific research, including those conducted under relevant programs by the Moscow Innovation Agency, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund and other organizations. The obtained scientific results, models for forecasting the market potential, were tested by Russian online education organizations and IT companies to predict the potential of the Russian market for advanced training courses. The results were considered as satisfactory. The developed models of forecasting the potential of international or local education markets for the organization of training in new emerging areas of the economy can be used by organizations that provide services in the field of secondary, higher and special education for people who plan to work or are already working in the newest, emerging areas of the economy.
