Annotation
The development of alternative education in Russia and the world is gaining momentum, more and more families are choosing alternative forms of education for their children outside of school. The pedagogical field of alternative education is constantly transforming: some practices are disappearing, and new ones are being born. Such new practices in alternative education in Russia are A-projects (A-schools). This group of alternative education practices is still few, but it is actively developing and requires scientific comprehension. The aim of the study is to present the content and meaning of the concept and features of A-projects for schoolchildren as one of the practices of alternative education. To achieve the research goal, theoretical and sociological methods (interviews, analysis of workshops of A-project leaders, expert discussion) were used. The article presents a theoretical analysis of the content and meaning of the concept of A-project, nine aspects of understanding of its essence by the research participants, namely: 1) creators of A-projects, 2) goals of education in A-projects, 3) educational results, 4) subjectivity; 5) organization of the education process; 6) A-projects as communities, 7) parents of A-projects, 8) attitude to intermediate and final certification, 9) teacher and his education. The scientific significance of the study consists in the introduction of the concept of A-project as a practice of alternative education, in the activation of scientific research and discussion of this phenomenon. The practical significance of the study lies in its contribution to the study of the issues of alternative education development in the context of Russia, in the formation of a model for policy makers who are looking for innovative practices
that contribute to the development of the national education system.
