Annotation

Absrtact. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in modern society, the requirements for the quality of education are constantly changing (transforming). Moreover, it is possible to note the versatility of these requirements — the requirements are set and determined by the state, by students, by the management of the educational organization, by the teaching staff, by interested parties (employers), etc. The quality of education is influenced by a variety of factors, and one of these factors is the motivation of both teachers (motivation for professional activity) and students themselves (motivation of students to study). Thus, the purpose of the study was to study motivation as a factor affecting the quality of education. Due to the emergence of such an unusual situation as the spread of coronavirus, educational organizations were forced to switch to distance learning, so the study revealed the features of motivation in both the traditional form of education (offline) and the new form of education (online). The article presents the results of various surveys that study the opinion of both teachers and students about what motivates them to professional and educational activities when using different forms of education and how this affects the quality of education. The results of the study allow us to conclude (and confirm the existing conclusions of previous studies) that such a factor as motivation not only needs close attention, but also should be constantly studied as the main component of effective activity (professional and educational).
